Lock and unlock

  1. Open the board in the dashboard.
  2. Click the ••• menu at the top right and choose Lock Board.
  3. To open it, choose the board and click Unlock. Touch ID or your password is asked for.
  4. To remove the lock, choose Remove Lock… from the same menu. That asks for Touch ID or your password too.

What is hidden

  • Search, the ⌘⇧V panel, the menu bar popover and the shelf never list its clips, even while the board is unlocked in the dashboard.
  • AI apps, the Shortcuts app and Spotlight never see them, locked or not.
  • The board shows a padlock in the sidebar, and its clip count is hidden.
  • It locks again when your Mac sleeps or the screen locks, and when you close the dashboard window.
