A shortcut doesn't work or is already in use
Change a shortcut in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts: pick one from its menu, or choose Custom… and press your own keys. Maclip checks the keys before you save.

A shortcut needs ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃, so it doesn't take over normal typing. Function keys can be used on their own.
If a shortcut opens the wrong thing
- Another app has registered the same keys and gets them first. Look at the apps in your menu bar first: launchers, clipboard managers, window managers and screenshot tools usually hold global shortcuts. Quit them one at a time and try the shortcut after each.
- Running a second copy of Maclip, such as a test build next to the installed one, makes the two compete for the same keys. Quit one.
- Restore Default in the shortcut's menu puts the original back.
